Tom W. Cook, MAI is a Baton Rouge native, earned his BS degree from Louisiana State University in 1980, and has been an independent real estate appraiser for over 40 years. He earned his MAI designation in 1989 and founded the firm now known as Cook, Moore, Davenport and Associates in 1990. Since that time he has been active in appraising all types of commercial and investment real estate. Tom is a State Licensed Appraiser in Louisiana and Mississippi, and is approved for both national and local lenders.
Tom has served as President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He has also served as President of the Commercial Investment Division of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors, and received the member of the year award in 2001. Tom served as President of the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition, and received an individual excellence award. He currently serves as the Real Estate Columnist for the Baton Rouge Business Report. Tom has been interviewed by local CBS and ABC affiliates, and has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the Times Picayune, the Baton Rouge Business Report and The Advocate.
Tom serves on the Advisory Board for Heritage Ranch, a Christian Children’s Home since 2007. He is on the Board of Directors for the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors, and serves as chair of the Residential Committee for the Trends in Real Estate publication.
He has been married to Carol for over 40 years. They have two daughters, and six grandchildren. Tom’s hobbies include spending time with his family, traveling, diving, tennis and LSU sports.
