Craig A. Davenport, MAI, is a commercial real estate appraiser, market analyst and consultant with over 20+ years of commercial real estate experience. He is a Senior Associate in the appraisal firm of Cook, Moore, Davenport & Associates, having been named a partner in the firm in 2017. Mr. Davenport has a Master’s Degree in Finance with a Concentration in Real Estate from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Finance from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. He earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in March 2015.

Mr. Davenport has a broad range of experience in consultation, valuation and analysis of virtually all types of commercial real estate, including retail, shopping centers, office, subdivisions, medical use facilities, self-storage units, industrial, mixed-use facilities, multifamily, condominiums and special use properties.

Over the past 20+ years, Mr. Davenport has specialized in market studies and the valuation of multifamily properties throughout the State of Louisiana, including the completion of over 1,200 appraisals involving multi-family properties. He has also been heavily involved in the analysis of affordable housing developments, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Projects (both in producing market studies and appraisals) and Section 8 Housing. Over the past several years, Mr. Davenport has completed over 200 market studies for LIHTC properties seeking tax credits.

Another program in which Mr. Davenport has been active is the preparation of Section 8 Rent Comparability Studies. In the past, Mr. Davenport has completed over 100 Section 8 rent comparability studies throughout the State of Louisiana.

Mr. Davenport also has vast expertise regarding the various HUD financing programs, including the Multifamily Accelerated Processing Program (MAP) in both the 221(d)4 and 223(f) programs. In the past, Mr. Davenport has completed over 300 market studies and appraisals of apartment complexes under the HUD 221(d)4 program and over 100 additional appraisals under the HUD 223(f) program.

Mr. Davenport has been an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute for the past 20 years and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the State of Louisiana. He has also been on the Multifamily Committee for the Baton Rouge Trends Conference for the past 16 years and was the Multifamily Speaker in 2012 and 2014 – 2019. He is currently heading up the Multifamily section of Trends.
